Two people, two very different jobs.
Brides often use the words interchangeably, and it’s easy to see why — both are part of the same journey toward the dress fitting exactly right. But they’re solving different problems, and knowing which one to call saves everyone time.
Your stylist is who you met on your very first appointment: the person who helped you find the gown, understood the silhouette you were drawn to, and guided you through the emotional and logistical parts of choosing. Questions about accessorizing, timeline, how the gown pairs with your veil, or anything about the overall look still belong with your stylist.
Your seamstress enters the picture once the gown is chosen, and her job is entirely physical: making the dress fit your body precisely, not just approximately. Hemming, taking in a bodice, adjusting straps, building a bustle — anything involving a needle and thread, and anything about how the gown actually sits on you, is a seamstress question.
Where it gets blurry is fit-related styling — should this neckline be raised, would this dress benefit from a belt, does this length work with these shoes. That’s genuinely a two-person conversation, and it’s exactly why we keep our stylists and our in-house alterations team talking to each other, not just to you. You shouldn’t have to be the one relaying information between them — if a question ever feels like it belongs to both, just ask either one, and we’ll make sure it reaches the right hands.
This is one piece of the larger conversation — visit The Guide for more on who does what, and when, throughout your Bliss experience.
